i felt i should update my older review. this is a newer operation that began about 2 years ago and therefore many of the older reviews you might see here would no longer apply. Lunch recently, reuben and fish and chips both very good, not too busy but a big appealing place....give it a try, no not a political announcement!!

great food and excellent service. bartenders were friendly and it was a good atmosphere. beers were nice and cold. highly recommend although dress light it's warm in there!

I was so excited to go to dinner last night at the Phoenix bar and grill. I have missed them and I'm so glad they have re-opened. I got the ribeye steak tips which were great and the mashed potatoes are excellent. My partner got fried clams which were spot on. The new hostess Sarah is a breath of fresh air. Although it was not as crowded as I would like to see, there was lots of laughter and great service. Our waitress was BB, not sure how you spell that, and she was great. I believe they have just opened for lunch which is really awesome. We played Keno had a great meal and met some wonderful local people. We will be back often! Let's bring this back to the glory that it once had! prices are good food is good and atmosphere is good! What more could you ask for? Welcome back!

Best turkey burger of my life, enough said. Oh, and veggie fries are a yummy alternative to French fries.

Food was Superb.....fish and chips very bountiful...hot turkey sammich delicious, shaved prime rob sammich with au jus was to die for....the rachel sammich was a 9...Drinks make this joint...cranberry margaritas were yummy...peppermint stick martonis were the best dessert...will be back

Tried the Phoenix twice recently. All you can eat fish and chips. Fish was pollock, a white fish, theirs wasn't. The the seafood platter, over priced, over cooked and underwhelming. Will keep away from fish, in future. All else was fine.

My absolute must stop and eat when visiting anywhere near the town of Shirley, the Phoenix Bar and Grill is a classic local beer joint with a restaurant on the side. Home cooked meals at always available like meatloaf with gravy and mashed potatoes! I am always in for the chowder and soft tacos, which are also offered once a week as all you can eat!
